The guiding purpose of the Prairie Arts Council is to strengthen and support the participation in cultural arts in Princeton IL and the surrounding areas. The cultural arts entail theater, music, art, and literature and we have made it our mission to support and develop these arts for everyone.

2011 Mini Christmas Tree Festival - Dec 3, 2011 - LAST CHANCE TO PLACE YOUR BID!
The Mini Christmas Tree Festival will feature individually designed and uniquely decorated trees by creative artists. The trees range from 18" to 32" tall. On Dec 3 there will be a sing-along, a boutique, refreshments, and the final chance to enter a bid in the silent auction.

Events taking place on Sat., Dec. 3:

At 2 p.m. in the theater, local music educator and Bureau County Chorus Director Joy Schertz will direct a family Christmas carol sing-along. After the sing-along, hot chocolate and cookies will be served in the Prairie Arts Center gallery. At 2:30 p.m., the Princeton Lions Club will present a magic show for children of all ages. These events are free for all participants. In cooperation with the Princeton Lions Club, there will be a volunteer collection of foods for the Bureau County Food Pantry.

From 1 to 4 p.m. in the Prairie Arts Center gallery, art teacher Kathy Ballard has arranged for a Christmas Gift Boutique of unique handcrafted items creatively designed by local artists. Also from 1 to 4 p.m., Pam Hanson, Prairie Arts Council board member and chairperson of the Christmas Mini-Tree Festival, will be hosting the last day of the silent auction for the 26 artistically designed Christmas Mini-Trees decorated and donated by local supporters of the Prairie Arts Center. At 4 p.m. the silent auction will end and the lucky winners will have one of these beautiful trees to decorate their homes.

Funky Folk Art by Dave Taylor December to the PAC Gallery Dec. 9, 2011- Jan. 8, 2012
Local artist Dave Taylor will take over the PAC Gallery with his Funky Folk Art show. The show will kick off with an opening reception on Friday Dec. 9 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., followed by a live concert presented by James Van Fleet in the PAC Theater. Enjoy an Evening with the Artist Wed., Dec. 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
